Hmmmm . . .

Now if I can just figure out how to pull some pictures off my old camera.  Need to keep all my cords sorted better. . . . . . .

What's next?

New title.  New thoughts on what I want to do on this blog -- which means something vs. the nothing I've done.  Inspired by a lunch time walk with two colleagues, we noticed all the cool little places that we could lunch and just walk by or through.  So my new mission is going to be to bring my camera and try and capture some of the cool and unique places in Cleveland.  I hope it is fun and eye opening.  I've always loved our city but never stopped to really look at all the real beauty and cool things it has to offer.  So here's hoping that I can show you Cleveland Rocks!

Funny of the day

Somethings just strike me as funny.  Today it was this:

MC - Does anyone care for a cheap, chocolate, creamed-filled cookie?  Come on over and get your Faux-Reo.

M.I.A.

I have done very little in the creative department this summer -- made some invitations for an open house to welcome and introduce my new niece from England.  But that is about it.  But I just got a bunch of pictures dating back to St. Patty's Day -- some great ones that are giving me lots of inspiration.  Summer has been way to nice and we have been so busy that I just have not wanted to spend time in the basement craft area -- even as nice as it is!  Hopefully I will have something to post soon!

Stuck

I feel a little stuck and am frozen when I look at all my "stuff" and wonder what to work on next. Looking for a little inspo. Does anyone have any? I just need to get off my fanny and start something!

Love is in the Air

Simple layout for the American Crafts challenge. I had all these photos of friends weddings and I love looking at them. This was a great way to get a bunch of random wedding photos together and remember all those great times with friends!

Supplies included American Crafts MiniMarks Frank Sidekicks and Accents book one.

It's time for the film festival!

It is time for the 34th annual Cleveland International Film Festival! I have only gone to this event for a couple of years but I love it! I love the smaller films that seem to have a little more meaning than a lot of films that come out in the "big" theaters.

So far this year I've seen TiMER (http://www.timerthemovie.com/) with Anya from Buffy and Quinn from Dexter, The Trailer Park by students at Ohio U, Dear Lemon Lima (http://www.dearlemonlimamovie.com/) which was kind of Juno-eque without teen pregnancy, and Toe to Toe set in DC about two girls from different sides of the track when they meet at a prep school.

Lots more to see -- can't wait till next weekend!!

American Crafts Card Challenge

I am so glad that American Crafts has these challenges. It makes me sit down every week and create something. I still really consider myself new to scrapbooking so it really helps me "Just do it" even when I'm feeling shy about creating something new. It really makes me Try Something New!

So here is my card! I used AC paper from the Amplified collection (The Twist); miniMarks IM Accents, miniMarks Like Totally Phrases and AC Elements ribbon.

AC Challenge - Sketch

From American Crafts Studio Blog I used Susan's Postmarked Wednesday sketch for a card and created a 12 x12 layout. I loved sketch week. Sometimes I just look at all my stuff and don't know where to start. I love having a jumping off point. Thanks AC team for such great inspo!

Here is my take on the latest AC challenge. I found it a great layout to use a few pieces of "scrap"ribbon. I knew I saved them for a reason.

Pictures were from a fun water fight we had with our cousins on the shores of Lake Erie. Maura just had a blast running around and squirting everyone with her squirt gun -- she must get it from her dad who buys little squirt guns at the drop of a hat!
Journaling -- Water Fight! You had a great time battling your cousins. Your smile and laughter were priceless!

Supplies used:

AC Teen Paper -- Pop Quiz and Fire Drill
AC remarks Journaling in Black and Taffy
All ribbon is from AC -- not sure of the names. I pick up the little spools at Archivers.

Afte the original photo I noticed my rub-on (not from AC) was peeling. Had to replace the Lovin' with little letter stickers.

AC Challenge - Book Week

My sister just moved to England and her favorite book is High Fidelity by Nick Hornby. You might have seen the moving starring John Cusak. The main character owns a record store and is always making up lists -- the top ten songs to break-up to and the top 5 girls he dated. So I was inspired by the thought of a list combined with what I want to do this year.

Here is my top 20 things I want to do in 2010.

Supplies used: Thickers - Chitchat Tangerine

Papers from the Teen pack including Study Hall, Homecoming Queen,

Detention and Head Cheerleader.

The teen line really inspired me to go back to my high school doodling! Thanks for all the inspo American Crafts!!
